Liverpool GP After Hour Clinics

The Liverpool GP After Hours Clinic is a fully accredited GP practice and funded by the NSW Ministry of Health and the Federal Department of Health and Ageing. It is managed by a group of experienced local General Practitioners. It is located inside Liverpool Hospital, next to the Emergency Department. It opens on weeknights, weekends and Public Holidays. The Clinic provides high quality primary GP care when your GP is not available. However, it is not designed for ongoing care and/or critical emergency treatment (critical cases will be referred to the Emergency Department). X ray service and Pathology service are provided through the radiology and pathology department of the hospital.

Nearby pharmacies (Day & Night Pharmacy, 65 Scott St, Liverpool, Ph: 9602 7629 and Discount Chemist, 1/279 Macquarie St. Liverpool, Ph: 9821 1942) will dispense your prescription/s during our opening hours. If needed, starter medication packs can be supplied by the Clinic.

The After Hours Clinic:
• Provides easy and affordable access to GP after-hours care
• Offers you continuity of care by providing a report to your nominated doctor to follow up for care and management
• Offers less waiting room time that patients needs GP type care, releasing the pressure on the Hospital’s Emergency Department

Fees and billing arrangement
• No charge for Medicare and Department of Veterans Affairs cardholders
• Non-holders of the aforementioned cards will be charged according to the AMA rates. The fee is payable at the time of consultation and will be issued a receipt for your claim, if applicable.
• Workers Compensation patients need to provide their employer’s details and claim number (if available)

Results of tests or procedure
When requested, the clinic can supply you with your results or you may contact your nominated doctor, as the clinic will notify them of your results.

Management of your personal health information & Your Rights
Your medical records are confidential documents. It is the clinic’s policy to maintain security of your records at all times. We assure you that this information is only available to authorised members of staff, your regular GP and any one authorised by you. We abide by the 10 National Privacy Principles available at www.privacy.gov.au/health/index.html.
